Solve one problem and as usual find another.
On the way to work this morning had the oil lack come on the MID now earlier when I turned the engine on the MID said low engine oil, 1st time I have seen this.
I now know the exhaust manifold is somewhere near sound but the rocker cover is leaking at the front causing the oil loss.
What I was wondering is now the low engine oil has appeared on the MID would I still be safe to drive it home 20 mile trip and I shall top up tonight and do the necessary at the weekend.
Also going back to the rocker cover refit can anyone recommend a tool they use to torque down the cover with only I think my torque wrenches dont do below 10Nm.
Cheers in advance for any responses.

This might be a silly question Roy, but have you checked the dipstick? Is so, how much oil is showing?
If oil is still showing, I think you'll be ok for the 20 mile journey home as I had this when my rocker covers leaked and my journey home is about the same distance. However, you might want to wait for advice from one of the main experts first.

As Bobtooth says, go by the dipstick. As for 8Nm, the little torque wrenches are rare as hen's teeth. The only thing I found when I was looking was the short 3/8" drive torque wrench at Halfords. It went down to 8Nm but was 49 quid. It's behind the counter, you have to ask for it.

Unfortunately not properly as where my car is parked at the moment its on abit of a slope this could be a clue to my problem [smiley=lolk.gif] although from the looks of it, it does need more oil otherwise the oil lack wouldn't show surely.
Oil was checked the other day and was just above minimum so i knew I needed oil soon.

I would have thought that the MID low oil warning would operate before any damage occured so a physical check on the dipstick may well show that the level is within safe limits but needs attention in the very near future.
As for the 8Nm I got a quarter drive Torque wrench on ebay for about £30.

On mine, Oil Lack comes up when it is just above min. Though check dipstick first....

Cheers all for the suggestions I shall get it parked on a flatter surface and leave it to settle for a little bit, and check it when I finish work.
Gonna be nice and cold and dark when I leave so it should be fun.
With regards the torque tools I shall have to see about getting something sorted for when I do the gasket.
