Just Spoken to a Garage about a quote for doing my Head Gasket and he said he did not think they would do it as its LPG because of Piston Wear and the like.
Going to love to hear his quote after he found out it was LPG converted before i mention this it would have been about 300 to 400 Mark
Hummmm Maybe LPG has had a hand in helpping My HG fail i do know it burns hotter than Petrol

I guess there could some extra work involved as the lpg system might get in the way, but you could always remove that yourself first.
Vx engines are good for running on lpg......ive got a vectraB dual fuel.....its done over 170k miles now.....ok it does burn a bit of oil.....but i suspect its the valves that have worn.....as lpg doesnt lubricate them like petrol does.

no Extra Work Really as mine is a mixer lpg not an injection, my LPG gos in with the Air Flow stright in the top above the butterfly.
I might just have to get a back street machanic to do it if I cant get it changed or if the price is stupidly high

To Be Honest I think Its Fine i took my Car Out for a blast last night on Gas to see if my water levels are down tonight and i hit 115 easy on gas.
Fuel wise it used to cost me about £35 pounds to get back to the north 250 miles in my old knacked car which was a 2L and on Gas it costs me around 17-18 pounds instead i worked out i get around 7 pence a mile.
Roughly on a long haul i get around 70 MPG compared to Pertol prices may be just less if i dont hammer it and drive really nice other wise i get the prices as above lol

Mate, I've got a spare 2.0 head sat at home you can have.
It would benefit from new valve stem seals, because the car it came of was a little (and I mean a little) smokey under high revs, but if it's any good to you, and you can get it, (or maybe cover my fuel to come your way) then it's a gift. I can promise there is no warpage or leakage, etc.
I'm not an expert by any shot, but I'm fairly confident with the mechanicals etc on the VXs, and I've done a few head changes for mates, etc, which have been sucesfull, so I'd be happy to lend a hand with the work in changing it too if needed
The only problem would be finding a good time in the run up to Christmas, but if that's any use, PM me or something :)

Although, it's off a '96 car, so we'd have to determine if they changed in the 4 years up until 2000.....

The Guy is going to do a Test to check its the head Gasket with a system that has a fluid or something and it turns Yellow if there are exhaust gasses in the Coolent or something like that. He is a Mate of my GirlFriends Brother so i should not get ripped off I hope.
