Anyone got a pick of what it looks like after you remove the "ECOTEC" bit, and the black plastic bit underneath?
I've never removed it, but was thinking about just adding a filter straight to the plenum chamber... as part of my "Mod" session.... ;)
Also thinking of terminating the breather hoses with filters....Never have to clean them again, just wash and clean the filter..... well that my thinking behind it anyhow... :y
Or is that a crap idea?
Cheers

Surely if you terminate breather hoses with filters your car wouldn't be able to breathe properly causing it to run rough.
Hope that makes sense.
Someone more knowledgable should hopefully be able to clarify my thoughts or even correct me. :y

Can't see that it's a great idea as inlet manifold depression sucks air/mist out of the relevant places so without pulling them out, they probably will not be removed sufficiently and may lead to a pressure build up in unwanted places e.g cam area - when the breathers get blocked pressure causes the oil leak we are all familiar with.

The crud comes from the block so you would be filtering it after it's blocked your breather pipes.

OK, cool thats all I wanted to know really.... :y
Looks like it's back to the drawing board....
Cheers.
