I have just fitted a ribbed headlight on my drivers side today, (thankyou fatboynotslimmer :y)
Whilst checking the lights/bulbs were working, I noticed my passenger side headlight adjuster was not working :'(
My drivers side headlight was going up and down no probs, but my passenger one stayed still, I think its stuck facing down on the lowest level.................no wonder I thought the road looked a little dark in front of me ::)
First of all where do I start to look for the problem?
I think I should check the black box attached to the bottom of the light, this attaches to a white plastic arm with a ball joint on the end could this have broken or come off somehow????????????? I'm guessing this is the actual adjuster??
If its electrical then I'm stuffed for now >:(
Also just for a quick fix (until I take everything off again/or if it is broken beyond repair) can I adjust the level manually, I seem to recall on another thread someone talking about 2 screws, one for vertical,and the other for horizontal which allow you to set the headlight???????????
Can anyone help?

well as a quick(ish) check you could try connecting the adjustment motor to the side that is working, that would at least show if the motor is working - you'd need someone to change the switch for you. You could open the headllight and check the fixings for the reflector aren't damaged, but that's an awkward job!
The offset adjusters are the two hex-headed screws you can see at FRONT of the top of the headlight casing, one for each axis. They drive a white gear at the back of the unit which is the actual adjuster, this has a metal thread which screws into a plastic slider inside the headlight and unfortunately is prone to splitting ... but to check that it's a case of opening the headlight unit again ... but you can soon work out if this is the case - the reflector should not move inside the unit. Try moving the reflector by grabbing hold of it where the main (or dipped) beam bulbs - on my old miggy the horizontal slider had fractured, you could move the reflector left and right freely within the casing ... fixed using superglue and araldite ...
note that as the adjusters are geared, it can take a lot of turning before you see a visible difference. I cheated by (carefully) used a hex bit in a cordless drill on a slow speed :)

Agreed, the adjusters are prone to breaking. If you swap motors you will know if that is the problem, I do have a spare motor if you need it, doddle of a job. If it is the wiring or something else you have a big job. Good luck.

Obviously I can see the two hex screws on top of the light, I also have the correct size allen key,
Can you tell me do you turn the screws clockwise or anti-clockwise to move the headlight up, and how many times do I turn the both of them, or will it naturally come to a stop????? (sorry for all the questions) ;D

from memory it's clockwise on the adjuster nearest the middle of the car to move the reflector up, the one nearest the indicator does the left/right adjustment. The adjuster should stop at the end, but if it's broken it won't :'(
