Title: EP Project No2
Post by: Elite Pete on 08 September 2007, 19:44:05
What do you think put a manual box in it and keep it for myself or repair it and sell it on?

How easy is it to put a manual box in an automatic then Pete? Oh, and I should have sussed it out 'PickledPepper'.  ;)

Hi Paul

Its a Dec 98 2.5 Elite Auto with Hids, black heated memory leather, CCRT 700 Bose stereo. Its MOTd until December but I will put 12 months on it next weekend and its got Vauxhall service history until 2004 and its been serviced by Merx an independant Mercedes dealer from then on. At the end of March this year its had a Brake fluid change, Coolant change, Auto box oil change, Cambelt and tensioner change and ive just replaced the oil cooler, cam cover seals and cleaned the breathers using genuine Vauxhall parts. I drove it back from Massive (Stoke ;D) and I was so suprised at how well it drove (Compared to my 3 litre) it really is a sweat runner. The Elite off ebay is being delivered on Wednesday so im open to reasonable offers but would suggest viewing/test driving first :y

Cheers Pete!

Tempting tho it may be, I'm after a 3ltr Elite myself, after having the 2.5V6 already in GLS spec, I just want something with a bit more go in it!

If it was a 3ltr though I'd more than likely snap it up :)

Funny you should say that because its only after driving the 2.5 home that I realised just how slow my 3.0 is. I got my work cut out with that one :'(

Deffo put a manual in it, that would be an awesome project for not much money! Ask Mole about it, he bought a slushmatic ex-police MV6 cheap and swapped in a manual over a weekend. Think he found a suitable donor in a scrappy and got all the bits for £100. So if you can do all the work you'll have a manual 3.2 Elite for £1600 -- something you can't buy for love nor money let alone for £1600 :o
