nice one mark thanks, you may all laugh but i was gonna ask where it was [smiley=embarassed.gif] as i aint used to repairing cars i usually get em, drive em, break em, pretend i can fix em, break em more, then flog em,
but am keeping maggie? her name from previous owner lol.
however i will check connectors etc tomorrow ( probably have to get snorkel and wet suit as rain here is torrential !) as i have just found a video of the car being driven backwards and forwards through a puddle????????????? ::) :-? done on video phone, so am hoping corrosion on the plug.
can the plug be cut off if rotten? and wires soldered and heat shrinked?
cheers

Thats certainly an option........if you get no further then check the rear right of the engine on the passenger side head...there are there earth points here.....one of them is for the O2 sensors.
Sensors are easy to spot....they are near the bend on each front pipe and stick out about 2 inches with 3 wires on each one.

thanks again mark, just interested how do you know its the passenger side one? gonna go do it now as rain stopped...

The code refers to passenger one, drivers side would have different DTC ;)

doh should have thought of that!!!!
have been researching a bit about the previous bar one owner on "the dark side" and he replaced the lambdas with universal ones so hoping it just wiring with the puddle thing. really am gonna have a look now ..... well after a cuppa..
-
ok checked connector it looks ok the sensor is a universal one ( i presume anyway as the wires have been crimped together) can anyone tell me where to look for the earths on the head? please
cheers

that might be the problem then......cheap universal part failed or not within spec :(
edit** Just looked up price and can see why universal one was fitted!
£106+vat retail price :(
