Title: Independent Vauxhall Service centre?
Post by: BigCat on 02 January 2007, 04:28:33
Hi Guys,

I need to have some work done on my Omega, eg:cambelt etc... can anyone recommend  - or point me in the right direction - an Independent Vauxhall service centre near Battersea/Clapham? at £65+ per hour, I'm not keen to use the local Franchise dealer.

Dominic

sorry can't help, don't know the area.

How ever we do have a DVD for £3 which shows how to do the change, if you have a few tools and borrow a V6 locking kit it can be done.

I could see myself making money here changing belts for people  ;D ;D ;D

Bit expensive if all you want is the lock kit...

West End Vauxhall did mine for £320, which is about average for Vx dealership though probably should cost around £100 less at an independent. West End Vauxhall have two garages, one in Staples Corner, and the other Edgware Road nearer the Marble Arch side. They are OK in case you do decide to go for a dealer. Hope this helps....

Thanks for the advice, don't think I'm going to take the job on myself, apart from not having anywhere to do it (except the roadway) all my tools were stolen along with my car back in August. Also need some Tech 2 work radio, display, cruise and an annoying airbag red light on the dash.

Working the night shift at the moment, so I'll chase up a service cente next week, might look at Markjay's suggestion of West End...

Don't forget to haggle - they started at £420 and I talked them down to £320... because I knew that this was what I paid them when they did the cambelt on my previous Omega.
