Title: Disabling dual-ram intake

I'm having problems getting my LPG to work on my Omega, and of the various excuses I've heard from 'specialists', the main one is that the dual-ram intake system on the V6 causes problems with the gas flow when the flaps open etc.

What noticeable effects would making the two flaps stay permanently closed have on the performance of the engine?

I know the whole point of it is two increase torque and stuff, but does it really make that much of a difference?

Certainly if the front one isn't working, you don't get so much of a kick at 4K

Missing out on a little kick wouldn't bother me. I'd sacrifice a little bit of performance for the cost benefits of LPG, but I don't want to feel like I'm driving a 1.2 Corsa when I floor it.  8-)

....and if the back one isnt working you get no grunt below 4K rpm.

They are talking crap though realy......the multiram modifys the air speed an tuned nature of the intake system, the LPG simply injects fuel long after the multiram.

I suspect the route cause is the poor LPG control systems that some use, idelay they would at least use MAP readings to meter the amount of fuel injected.....and preferably also monitor lambda for closed loop control....

The LPG system was already on the car when I bought it. It's only a basic single-point system that mixes the gas in the air intakes. The 'specialist' said that when the flaps open the air flow changes and causes problems  :-?
