Title: elite satnav
Post by: RobC_NE on 16 January 2007, 03:06:52
as posted by my father on "the other site" :

Apologies if this is in the wrong section (first post). I have just purchased 1998 Omega Elite Estate which is equipped with sat nav. However it appears dead. I know it suffered from a flat battery (had to re-enter the radio/CD codes). Could that have any bearing? There is no display on the screen, no reaction from the twirly control thingummy and nothing from the eject button on the computer (after I finally found it). It may not even have a data CD in.

All fuses seem ok (thought they would be as they run lots of other stuff that is working) and there is a CD in the unit. Anyone know where the connectors are hidden so I can stick a voltmeter on them?

anyone have any ideas.

cheers, rob

I shall have to consult my data later and report back......do check the rear of the sat nav unit though, they often have there own fuse near the rear connector setup.....

Unrelated to your issue, but I did scan the satnav user guide for someone. I think I still have the PDF somewhere at work. If anyone needs it, I will try to dig it out...

No, only to check fuse 6, 12 and the one on the unit it self....
