Only had car since monday, so not been over it with a fine toothcomb yet....but looks quite clean on the inside.
Looks to be a lot more wiring in the glass than my previous 2 Miggys

Should be the same (assuming all saloons) - with aerial amp on parcel shelf (bit of a pig to get to)

I'll have a poke around tomorrow afternoon, but main job is to rip off the plates with the extra inch of advertising along the bottom, and stick on my nice new plain ones.. ;D Then scrape/cut/burn off all the damm stickers...

Might be the first warrenty job if its the aerial amplifier??

Rather than faff around, if it has a warranty, use it ;)

Found this on the web.........

The reason you are getting a hiss on radio with hrw switched on,is that one or more of the heating elements has a hairline fracture which causes minute arcing across elements. This can be proven by running youre finger across the element lines (while hrw &radio are on)as you reach a fracture you should hear a change in noise/interference as the finger remakes a circuit. These omegas are notorious for poor radio reception due to hrw faults (changing the aerial/hrw amp makes no difference). The best cure is an external aerial.

Never seem it happen on an Omega - other cars yes, but not omega...

Given the car a good check over, no oil leaks, oil nice and clean, tyres good etc.
Fitted new number plates/silver indicator bulbs/new wiper blades etc....now that looks better... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Solved the radio problem.....it was the damm advertising sticker... :o once peeled off radio works fine with HRW on.
However, peeling it off it left s strange mark (remember I said the rear screen looked to have bigger wires in than my previous miggys), rear screen has been tinted with plastic film, and i've a little bit missing up by the high level brake light, but its barely noticable.
Windscreen is done too, it the sun today its a mild purple tint, which looks quite good against the black paint.
What would i use to clean the insides.....guessing this type of film is quite delicate?

Only other problem found was a loose Xenon bulb, how should that be locked in position? it wiggles around if i move the power lead. Had a peek under the rubber boot...big thing with danger sticker so i left alone. I don't want to pull on it and bugger it up unless i know how it fits together. Job to get done when its serviced maybe?

bulb pushes in, then rotate clockwise to lock (similar to a normal household bulb). You might find it's the reflector inside the headlamp unit that's moving with the bulb, which usually means a broken adjuster inside ... requiring a strip-down or replacement, depending on how deep your pockets are  ;)

So is it just remove the rubber boot, disconnect the box bit?? and get my hand in there to feel?
is the bulb at 90 deg so to speak to the c/l of the car?

That sounds like a heat reflective screen - like the kind you tend to find in Peugeot/Citroen cars.

My old man has it as standard fit on 02 Vectra CDX so may have been a Vx option from new.
