Hi, Welcome to the site  :y

Interiors have to be like for like....

So if you have a Saloon you must get the seats from a Saloon, Estates have a different back bench and will not fit the Saloon.

Yes the seats will fit no problem, however you may not have the electric looms in place to connect up the heated seats. The heated seats often fail on early models so they may not work anyway!

You also need the buttons on the dash for them, and associated looms. Its a big job to wire them up, and in my opinion not worth it. However it is worth upgrading to leather, very comfy seats  :y

Think it should fit ok as there is a leccy supply for the seats at the front , though the memory function will not work as this is run by the ECU . Not sure about the rear seats you may need a bit of the loom to rig up the heated rear seats , but otherwise its just a case of getting the right colour :y

I am unsure if your GLS will have the power for electric seats....

Be careful when removing the old seats - more than just bolts to worry about - if you're unsure just ask as I know a few on here have done the deed before  :y

Right, as has been stated before, early leather seats will propbably have knackered heaters, esp driver side.  Leather is bloody cold in the winter ;)

I believe the heated seats loom will be in place.

The seat movement loom will not be. I think you will get away with supplying a fused 12V and 0V to them.

HOWEVER,  yours being a 98 model will have side airbags. Ensure the replacement set have as well.  Take full precautions to prevent the SRS stuff deploying (basically disconnect the battery for 5 mins before starting work).

Mickey taking aside, it was good for you to mention the belt pretensioners as a reminder to others that srs includes these items, not just airbags :)
