Wishbone design remained the same throughout production, the bush design changed 3 times (front only) with the final change being on the facelift models......the bushes can be retro-fitted to early vehicles and you would hope that anybody supplying new wishbones is using the latest version!

Mark, I've spoken to a couple of vauxhall dealers and they don't seem to know anything about the 3 x bush design changes , can I ask you how you found this info' as when I change mine Iwill want the latest ones.
Aso one of the mechanics I spoke to , said that it's not worth changing bushes only as after a few weeks they seem to work themselves loose/out of wishbone, have you ever found this, I can't see how as they are pressed in

Never found them work out again.....it does take way in excess of 6 tons to remove them and not much less to re-fit......most dealers follow this method to.
The parts people will only see the later superseeded codes for the bushes as they are a retrospective fit.
The first version had metal caps on it and no additional nylon support, these didn't last long.
Next up was the version that went through to about late 1999 (facelift), these were an open arangement with a nylon support insert.
They were then changed a third time to alter handling (for the better) on the facelifts....

ok, thanks Mark

Talking of changing bushes - as I now have a set of "spare" wishbones with duff bushes lying around - is it worth keeping them & changing the bushes (I have access to a fly press) for genuine GM ones? I've heard that the aftermarket wishbones don't last too well.
