Is the fuel tank vent. valve in the fuel filler pipe between the tank and the filler inlet? I need to check it.

I thought the vent was to the charcoal canister in the front wing and then out the vent pipe on that. The charcoal catches the petrol fumes and then the emissions control valve opens when the engine is running and sucks air back through the charcoal into the plenum and burns off the fuel vapour.

Correct but it only vents the canister under engine cruising conditions where it wont be noticed driving it!!!
