Title: possible purchase
Post by: stevenw on 22 February 2007, 17:46:36
As you may remember, my previous Omega (Elite :'() had a terminal problem(see Fire!).
Now, my beloved, who drove the car almost every day for the last 6 months, wants another Omega. She spotted a trade ad for a 2L auto, T reg with an LPG conversion.
My last 2 cars have been LPG and I love it ;D.
Anyway the car is priced at £895. She got more info over the phone and this is what the guy said, it runs great on gas,but idles lumpy on petrol, the bodywork is good, LPG has certificate, he will check service record and give her details tomorrow.
Mileage 155.000. Now this seems high to me, and as I've no experience of the 2L engine I was wondering what you guys think. If the servicing has been done, is this milage excessive?
Thanks
Steve

Not bad I suppose, redex will probably fix the petrol problem.

If it is all working go for it.

2.0 is fine

Sounds like a reasonable price to me.  Check cambelt history though.

Mijfife was having a similar lumpy idle problem when on petrol, at the last Jockular meeting.
I am not sure if he ever got to the bottom of it either.
It may be worth a PM to see.
