Hi all
As a newbie, not just to the site but also to the world of Omegas, i selected a 2.5 v6 cdx model with all the trimmings. Being quite excited about my new purchase and not realising cruise control was standard, i didnt test it as a result.
You wont be surprised to hear that it doesnt work however the parts required for it to function sound like they are pretty basic so my question is....
Where do i start?! :(
Not sure if its the stalk, the actuator unit or one of the switches but i have no idea what is at fault and my trusty Haynes manual is about as useful as a chocolate motorbike.

Cruise modules are actually pretty reliable.
If yours won't activate I'd be checking connections to the module (under the expansion tank) and the pedal switches. If the cruise thinks you're pressing the brake or clutch it won't activate.
Mechanically check the cable to the throttle.
Check all your fuses.

As jasonh says: check the fuses first. Then
a) check the actuator cable is connected properly: you should be able to see it at the throttle body. Look at the top of the actuator and twist the cable off. You should be able to lift it up a small amount (mine moves up by about 1/4inch and no more. This should tell you that the cable is joined to the yellow strip in the actuator. If it comes out further then it looks like the cable is disconnected
b) check the electrical connections. I posted on here recently

the pin readouts from my cruise multiplug (top of the unit). If you get the same readouts this will confirm that the cruise switch and other power feeds are o.k. with the exception of the speed signal. This is shared with the instument panel so my guess is you would have other problems if that didn't work.
If you need any spare parts, try here or ebay. There is usually someone selling the cruise kit.
Good luck

Also, check the simple things, like making sure that you're not trying to turn the cruise control on at a speed less than 24mph.
