can anyone give me a link to some shocks and springs for a 3ltr mv6 1998.

For dampers you want these from Bilstein:

As you can see, the price is actually less than standard Vx dampers, and they are considerably better.
As for springs. I have Irmschers, but as they are silly expensive I would recommend these from Eibach:

OK, I thought you got the sports? That would explain why MDTM is annoyed at me. ::)
How long are they taking to come in? I wanted to do the fronts in 2 weeks. Then I will probably do the air rears next month.

I used Bilstein 'Blue' shocks on previous cars (I think the 'Blue' is basically OEM) and they were better than the standard shocks, though not as good as the Koni 'Yellow' that replaced them... (that's the sport version).
Front Konis for the Omega though seem to come without the strut, so you somehow have to cut the strut open and then weld it shut which is too much work, so I guess Bilsteins are the best bet...

Mine took 3 weeks to arrive but this was due to Bilstein moving their order processing centre >:(
(I did get some discount for the inconvenience though)
I would say they should arrive within 7 days now and I have to say the service from Balance was excellent.

OK, yeah that's what I was worried about. So you still suggest that I get all 4 and dump the air levellers? It is tempting, but I'm probably influenced by the fact that it is just bouncing on the rear airbags at the mo'. :-/

I think your biggest concern has to be those completely :-Xed front shocks! :o
Personally I would change all 4, but if the rears are working fine...

Oh no, they're all gone, it's just the NS front that is beyond trashed. I wanted to leave the rears for next month due to financial considerations, which would also maybe let me afford air levellers. Won't have to re-do alignement with rears.
Would you say the Bilsteins are more like Elite or MV6 original shocks?

Bilsteins are stiffer so will be more like MV6 dampers.
Alas won't be able to fit them (with Marks assistance) for a few weeks so no review until then.
Whatever way you go, the ride will be transformed compared to what you have on now! ;)

So maybe won't work so well with air rears . . .
Best thing might be for me to ride in an MV6 sometime. Maybe an Elite too ::) ;D
Of course the air levelling system is one more thing to break in the future. Doubt it will affect resale if it isn't there. ::)

As MDTM will confirm, my rears are shot.
I am torn between GM or Bilstein.
I am concerned with upsetting the balance of the car, as I have GM on the front (though they have probably done 30k now)....
Any advice welcomed.

From what LB66 and MDTM have told me, it sounds like Bilstein rears would be ideal for yours. You may end up doing the fronts earlier that way, but it sounds like it will work fine.

I'm putting mine in next weekend if they come in on time, I'll report after. They don't fit an MV6 unless you get lowering springs.
