My dads 2001 facelift has developed the "lazy" door locking problem on the drivers side.
No doubt its probably the motor that's gone, but I have 2 questions:
1. Are central door locking motors the same between facelift / pre-facelift?
2. I am very nervous about the air-tight inner film on the door, as this is used as a sensor for the side air bags. Should i disconnect the battery before doing this job? Also whats the best stuff to use to seal it all up again?
Cheers

The weather shield bit is not 'airtight', but is used as part of side airbag system. It needs to be 'airtight enough' so the pressure sensor in the door can detect pressure increase when the door is hit by and object.
So, don't tear it, instead peel it off (only enough to get to what you need). Restick with any glue if it is not sticky enough

Cheers, just scared of buggering it up so that come a crash the side air bags won't go off..
Hoping the CDL motors are the same, cause got a feeling James might have one spare!

Is the connector on a bit of loom from motor (rather not modify car loom)?
