Just a question..1998 elite..have recently bought and was wondering why rear seats were not heating despite switch illuminating..pulled out rear reat leather cushion and noticed several plug connecters and what appeared to be 2 wires with gold spade connecters..further investigation found that other connecter female plugs again not connected..whaen tried to join they seemed to be different sizes..my question is ...did GM change the plug connecters as I am now wondering if car originally had leccy seats or were these retro fitted..the switches in rear console look original..other strange thing now I think about it is front seats are MV6 recaro leather but only have standard up/down controls..drivers seat heater does not work (but that seems to be normal )passenger seat heater does work..is it possibel to get the original factory spec from chassis /vin number?

Its possible it started life with cloth, and someone has retro fitted rear leather from older car (probably different connectors).
Does it have the autodip mirror, if so, possibly started out with standard elite leather fronts, swapped for the better sports leather.
All Elites came with rear heaters as standard.
-
No auto dip interior mirror.but all other spec seems as should be..door cards all leather..assuming the leather was a rtro fit how do i go about getting the connections to mate and working?
-
OK, one of the rarer elites with Sports seats option. You get better front seats, but lose the electric seats and memory functions of the seats and mirrors.
I can only assume the rear bench has been changed for some reason?
AFAIK, the is only a pair of connections for each heater, so should be easy enough to reconnect

What do you mean by AFAIK ??it seems the seat pad has wires coming out and the back also has connecters..it there a wiring diagram or pic,s of connection sposted on forum??
-
AFAIK= As far as i know....

Sorry..cannot keep up with all this new lingo !!

Back to the issue of pluge etc..is it just a matter of connecting the back seat to the pad seat..then finding which wire is the switch and hope it all works ..or fuse blows?
