Post by: Griff on 06 April 2007, 21:11:38
Hello all , some advise needed.

Recently EML came on , VHX read and advised fault code Pe0400 , O2 sensor needs replaced.I bought sensor and want to fit myself. Can anyone advise which sensor to replace , middle of exhaust or near engine?? , or if i should even attempt.

Faulty for 2mths , car is now very jumpy when driving( like its not getting petrol) , could something else be wrong??

thx in advance for any suggestions.

I assume PE400 is 02 Lambda sensor TB.  That would account for the poor mix when running.  What does it say on your magic list?

I need engine and year to look up fault codes - quick look on 2.2,2.5,3.0 shows no P0400 code.  Also, remember the DBW units have 2 o2 sensors per cat, earlier ones have 1.

TIS does not list code PE0400 for a Z22XE...   ....lamba faults are all around the 0130 to 0141 range

Sorry Griff, you don't have a magic list, I was referring to the software that The Boy has, it is the same as used by Vx called Tech2.  I would suggest you ring the garage up and ask them to confirm the code and which sensor it relates to and let us know.

Sorry, he was referring to some software, TIS, that has the list of DTCs (error codes). TIS is used by Vauxhall garages and Vauxhall specialists, and is supposed to be the definative source.

I also have a Tech2 (the handheld computer that talks to your car), so if you are near me, I will rescan for you to locate which o2 sensor it is.
