Title: 3,000 RPM change up
Post by: old cruiser on 09 April 2007, 14:07:32
Might have asked this before; does anyone know how to disable the 3,000 rpm ( Cat warm-up) change up that occurs first thing in the mornings, is there an ECU upgrade that gets rid of it? Only thing left that I find annoying with this car , I have spoken to owners of Mercs, BMW and several others with autoboxes and even a Signum and none of these have this. Gets a bit embarrassing as you drive down the road and people glance over thinking 'does he know how to change gear'!! not doing the engine and those dodgy manifolds much good either.

Have you had the autobox upgraded with a TechII? Mine used to before I had the upgrade.

Mine's on ver 9 but will still hold on to the revs if I let. Senator auto's do it too. It gives you an excuse to press the winter/snow button.  ;)

Autobox has been upgraded to V.10 but still does it, Auto Addict , was it you're autobox upgrade that stopped it or did you have an engine ECU upgrade aswell, which I'm thinking might be the answer.

With the latest gearbox firmware, the gearbox is in 'warm up mode' for 30s apparently. This would concur with behaviour of my MV6 - invariably I don't notice the 3k thing, as by the time I've reversed off drive and left the Close, 30s have long past.

I find even with the latest version mine still takes around a minute or so in warm-up mode
