Can anyone help please?
I have an R reg CDX manual that is loosing a lot of water (I have to fill it up after about 15 miles) but there are no signs of a leak or where the water is going!!
Cheers,
Dave.

How does the header tank look, is it full of gunk?
Any steam coming out of the exhaust? Would probably be a lot..
Have you got any cream / mayonaise on the dipstick?

Is it a V6 or 2.0 ?

Welcome to the forum M8, daft question but are you over filling the coolant bottle ? :)

Thanks for the quick replies. Im new to this and very impressed!!
There is no steam from exhaust, or mayo on dipstick, however, the bottom of the header tank looks a bit murky.

Dave Do you have a V6 or a 4 Pot Engine its importaint for the guys to know to help you find the problem

Thanks Craig. It's a V6 2L manual.
Hope this helps.
-
That's unlikely.
2L (and 2.2) are 4 cylinder, 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 are V6

Thanks Craig. It's a V6 2L manual.
Hope this helps.
Not really. 2.0 is a 4 pot, V6 is either 2.5 or 3.0l

Sorry, my mistake. It's a 4 cylinder 16 valve. Not too hot on these things!!

Hummmm Right This is not to scare you but water vanishing with no sign of a leak could be the head Gasket.
Coolent going into the pots thats what happened to mine.
When you start her up in the morning is she alittle rough missfiring and then clear up really quickly after reving alittle ?

Not so much missfiring but a little jerky. Sometimes continues whilst driving.
-
As someone else said, what level are you filling the header tank up to?
-
Only filling the header tank up to the half way mark then when im driving the 'coolant level' warning displays on the computer. Temp gauge does not go up though!
-
Jerky could be your breathers need cleaning out.
Does it sound rough and deep when reving first thing, i am asking as mine had a Head Gasket leak and the coolent was going into the pot over night and first thing it was rough as the water was burnt off i think it was the front pot on mine number one.
sniff your header tank see if you can smell exhaust gases or the exhaust to sniff for anifreeze, i had a small test done on mine where a vesal with blue liquid is put on the header tank if it turns yellow it has exhaust gases in the coolent.
Also My Header Tank Cap was knacked from the pressure so i was lossing coolent there also

I don't know if the sensor has a time delay on reset, but if you're losing it that quickly it may not have time too. Also these sensors have been known to fail, I've seen it on many a vauxhall, not neccesarily an Omega..

See if any of your local garages can do a chemical sniff test to see if any exhaust gases are in your coolant. If so then you do have a head gasket prob. If not look at getting another coolant cap to try or look to see if you have wet carpets. Could be a heater matrix leak. ;)

Thinking about it also check the HBV if your alittle Jerky it could of sprayed the Disy Pack over time and corroded it.
The HBV is at the back of the engine you will have to get under the car to check it, its not to bad on a 4 pot you have lots of room compaired to the V6 boys
