That the CDX doesnt?
I plan to upgrade my car around october time, saloon facelift, 2.5ish
can anyone tell me what the difference is in the toys on the CDX and Elite?
seen some CDX with sunroof and headlight washers and things suchlike, could these be standard or optional extras? what about cruise control?
-
cruise, bose system, self leveling rear shocks, 4 heated seats ...... I'll think of more yet!
-
Rear electric sun blind, different alloys, elite badge :-X
-
Cruise, sunroof and on the facelift, headlight washers and HID's are standard on the Cdx.....
-
as above all standard on CDX
Elites should have 'Bose' sound system, leather was standard on 3.0 / 3.2's but not on 2's
Should have electric rear blind, sat nav, fat alloys, lip rear spoiler... think thats about it.
Elites had an optional extra colour sat nav which is rare but good, also the bose sound system i found excellent.
When i start earning money again, I too am considering an upgrade. Prob a 3.2 Elite or 2.6 Elite with the colour sat nav. But i will take my time searching...

not too fussy about leather, as i managed to scorch my arm on the centre armrest today just from a couple of hours parked in the sun this afternoon, pretty sure leather seats would have the same effect this time next year!
Judging by the replies I think it'll be an elite coming my way, had I bought a CDX the wheels would have been upgraded ASAP cos I really dont like them!

Both models have their followers but best of all they are megas. :y

my perfect megga is a 2.6 manual Elite with Bose and colour sat nav, and in the same colour as my current car. I'd also prefer cloth to leather!

Do facelift Elites have memory drivers seat, memory door mirrors, memory self-dimming rear view mirror, fully powered passenger seat, and body coloured side skirts like the earlier models?

Phone....

Yes :y
...manual...
Err... no :(
...Elite...
No, no, CDX... :-/
...with Bose...
CCR2006... 8 speakers... but not Bose
...and colour sat nav...
No, no, MID... :'(
...and in the same colour as my current car...
...'Midnight Black? :)

Well you can't have mine then, I've got cow! 8-)

the thing to do on sunny days is to close the sunroof shade !!!
facelift elites do have the memory seats and mirrors, powerered passenger seat (unless the sport seats option was taken) and side skirts as per earlier models.
the leccy blind was dropped on later models (around 2002/2003 IIRC). However I think the rain sensor was fitted as standard on later models (my 52-plate 3.2 elite has it), not sure if CDX's of this age have that as well?
Facelift 3.0 & 3.2 elites had the monochrome sat nav (NCDC2013 head unit) as standard - other than on very early models. My W-reg had it but I've seen a few V-reg ones on fleabay etc. that didn't ...

The sill covers are also body coloured on the Elite - the CDX has black covers. Elite also has the self dipping rear view mirror and memory seats / mirrors which includes the rear view mirror.
My CDX is virtually an Elite as it has leather and the electric pack, giving it the mirror, memory seats and heated rear seat. I also have an electric blind "in stock" which I intend to fit at some time.

My MV6 is almost Elite, got the cruise, electrochromatic mirror, rear blind, Irmscher grille, self-levelling suspension, plus all the standard mini-facelift MV6 stuff (HID, climate, leccy sunroof & windows, etc). I also have an aftermarket audio/sat nav system that's better sounding and better at navigating, plus it has a built in HDD and plays DVDs.
Only notable thing it misses from the Elite is leather seats, but I'd much rather have the MV6 seats unless it was sports leather as the standard Elite ones are more suited to my lounge than my car ;) On balance, the better suspension, nicer 17" wheels, "carbon fibre" trim (much nicer than fake wood) and most importantly manual gearbox mean I'm much better off with the MV6 :) Which is probably why I bought it rather than an Elite :y

I had a W reg CDX which I replaced with a 52 Elite.
Extras to the CDX in the Elite were:-
leather, elec mem seats, auto dimming rear view mirror, bigger and prettier alloys, bose stereo, sat nav stereo, auto levelling suspension, heated rear seats and rear spoiler.
Rear electric blinds are standard on Elites but were removed on 52 plate onwards!

Just for the record, AFAIK cruise was standard on CDX facelifts...
Also, SatNav as standard came and went on Elites... late pre-facelift had the Carin as standard, early facelifts had no SatNav at all as standard, and I think they re-introduced it in later facelifts... just to say don't assume an Elites will always have SatNav. And the colour one was always optional. On another note, leather came standard on 3.0/3.2 Elites (though not on lesser facelift Elites), but you could have the without it if you wanted to - so some flagships Elites have no leather...
