From the info I have recieved from my question about my water laek, I am sure that my cylinder head gasket is gone. What sort of cost am I looking at so that I know im not being ripped off??
It's a 2L manual R reg 4 cylinder Omega.

Craig had his 2.0L head gasket done for £375 including parts and labour, though sadly the operation was not successful...
By the sound of it this was a private mechanic or very small garage, so the price is probably about right. He was initially quoted by another garage £500, and in Vx Dealer money this would probably be around £1,000 (my guess).
Hope this helps.

About 3-4 hours labour and 200 in parts.....including a new cambelt and water pump
Not that difficult a job to do yourself on a 4 pot if your good with spanners

Yep £375 for my Head Gasket I was unlucky within a month or so with her Headgasket All Fixed And Great But then My Oil Pump Went 250 miles later on a run back to the north OUCH.
I still have not figured out if it was related that he oil pump knacked after the head gasket was replaced and the head skimmed, But after having the Oil Pump Done She has been Fine.
I have beed told its not a hard Job On a 4 pot i just never had the time or the place to do it as i park on a main road on a hill and it was a round Xmas

Could be the HG on a 4 pot, but you need to have the header tank "sniffed" by a garage to confirm exhaust gases in the coolant to be certain.
