Right, the display is saying they is a problem with your HIDs. Only a 97 car should have HIDs :-/
Is the last letter in your VIN a V or a W?
If you do have HIDs, its telling you the auto levelling of the headlights has failed, normally a sensor problem (1 on NSF wishbone, other on NSR trailing arm).
For the cruise, is it petrol or diesel? If its a petrol, there is a seperate actuator and second throttle cable - can you check still there? If diesel, the throttle is electronic.

98 model year then (mini facelift), so will have HIDs. Check the sensors on the NSF wishbone and the NSR trialing arm. Somethings they become unclipped.

Thats OK, manufacturers tend to release the new 'model year' late in previous year...

You'll probably have to wait till tomorrow for an answer, as the 'A' team are on a visit to Drax Power Station today.

regarding the cruise, you might want to look at the following thread
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1170492943
on page 2 I posted my pin readouts (admittedly from a manual but you should get the same from an auto except for the clutch switch action.)
Take the cruise multiplug from the top of the actuator and read the pin voltages with a multimeter. this will confirm whether the unit is getting the correct power feeds. Also when you are down there, take the cruise cable off the top of the actuator. You should be able to twist the cable sheath off by 1/4 turn and pull it up by a small amount. If you do this you should see a yellow canvas strip joining the cable to the mechanism of the actuator. Without this it will not work
Good luck

Hi, this might seem like a daft question but you are pressing the right part of the button? It is the dimple at the back of the top button to set the cruise, the hollow at the front is to reduce your speed when cruise is engaged, the ribbed piece below is to disengage the cruise.

Worth checking the voltages at the connector as suggested - could still be a number of things, such as wrong brake switch fitted, cable snapped, actuator failed etc...

The yellow strap thats between the cable and actuator?
New actuator reqd :(. Well, new to car that is - find a breaker ;)

Best place for an actuator is a scappy or fleabay.
Has the strip snapped or has it been dropped back into the actuator? It is always possible the previous owner was a bit careless....
If the latter then I would take the actuator off and try tipping the actuator upside down to see if it is still in there. If so then fish it out with something. failing that disassemble the actuator and have a fish about that way.
For what its worth, cruise is definitely worth having. I'm doing over 500 miles this weekend, and would be lost without it

Does that mean W is HID & V is not?

The yellow bit is part of actuator, and non replaceably. Never known one to snap (the actuator isn't that powerful). A replacement actuator is not hugely expensive 2nd hand...

May be worth bidding low on some ebay ones - you may win one cheap, and it will make a good spare. All Omega cruise actuators are the same, its the throttle cables that vary.
