Can anyone help, I have put a set of 18" brushed alloy wheels on the omega, looks fantastic, can anyone advise on what tyre pressures I should run at.
Tyre size 235 x 40 x 18
car:- 2002, 2.2 DTI, GLS

Pressure is usually higher on low profiles. I run my 18s at about 40psi, but i also drive it quite hard, ;D so you may want to run at about 36-38psi. Hope this helps.

Pressure specified with the standard 235/45/17's on my MV6 is 2.1 bar (30.5) front, 2.3 bar rear (33) or 2.8 (40.5) / 3.3 (48) with full load. This appears to apply to the Y22DTH engine too.
Those tyres will have pretty much the same contact patch on the ground so I'd say they'd be a good starting point.
Watch the tyre wear and adjust as necessary. Wear on both edges indicates insufficient pressure. Wear in the centre indicates too much.

Ignore the last post. I was looking at estates ::)
Saloon pressure is 2.2 (32) all round light load and 2.7 (39) Front / 3.1 (45) Rear fully laden.

Thanks for that, I will try the pressures and monitor the wear.

My MV6 (235/45ZR17) I run at 35(F)/32(R) after spending a year messing with pressures. May not work for you though...
