Just had the air con tested on my 98 mini-facelift meega and it appears that one of the filling valves (Schrader?) is leaking. I've been quoted £113 for the pipe assembly plus fitting and re-charge. My query is that EPC suggests (to my simple brain) that the valves are a seperate item from the pipes. Is that the case and is that a cheaper option? Or does anyone have known good valves they might be willing to part with for a small sum?
Don't want to spend too much at this stage as there is no guarantee that there aren't more leaks that will only show up when the valve is fixed.
Cheers, Jeff.

Does the Schraeder valve have a black cap over it?
These caps are to seal the valves. If it doesn't have it, find one (breakers) and it could sort your leak.

Heres some info for you.
1) The schrader insert should be replaceable...assuming some cack handed aircon teh has not damaged it (seen that one before eh Laidback66!)
2) The schraders are not a full seal....its the caps that provide the final seal....
