Welcome to the forum :y
Sounds like you need a new sensor, it's located just under the front bumper.

Has it always been wrong? My temp display threw a wobbly a few months ago when the battery packed up and after a couple of days it was back to normal.
Oh and welcome to the forum :)

Welcome to the site M8, bit of side ways thinking, does the readout show Centigrade or Fahrenheit temp?
instead of the temp sensor, which it probably will be, the outside sensor could be showing Fahrenheit instead of Centigrade. You can change them around easily from the switches in the car. There was a thread somewhere on the site to show how. Good luck. :y
