Having pressed every button, twiddled all the knobs on my car I have only just realised that the wing mirror controls are pooped! (I'm sure they were ok when i bought it!)
I would like to pop the controls out and have a look although I can't seem to remove it without the use of a seriously big hammer and stabber >:( Does anyone know how to remove the unit without such violent tools? Hopefully I don't have to remove the door card.
Cheers

I'm afraid that the easiest way without damaging the trim is doorcard off. Doesn't take long :)

Oh well... it would seem that i've ripped more door skins off than i've had hot dinners since christmas. First door locks and now the mirror controls... :(
But at least i'll get change to give the door a thorough clean and wax into every nook and granny! A clean door is a rust proof door!

Speaking of cleaning, when i say clean i mean strip off all plastic and metal clips and strips, clean with hot soapy water and them remove all grime with a cloth soaked in IPA. Finally i'll rub it up with a coat of Maguires... is this taking things a little too far for a 5 y/old motor? and is IPA a bit too strong?
I used IPA on some of the tough grime in the nooks and grannies on my old motor and it really does clean up the crud and make it all spanking and new again... :y

Depends if your are talking about Greene King's finest, or that Iso Propowhatever Alcohol.... ....the latter may be a tad harsh? The former obviously silly ;D
