Hi I got a 3.0 auto w 88k miles on it. Im getting a slight rattle around 3k rpm in first and second gear only when the car is cold. When I throw my trans into N the rattle doesn't happen. Is this the transmission going?

Oh, and i dont know if this has any thing to do with it, but im throwing a check engine light thats faulting the O2 senso.

Sort the sensor and see what happens :y

Wondering if it could be the knock sensor faulty; does it sound like it's pinking in terms of the rattle?
 Cheers Pete

Check the heat shields on the front pipes......they may be loose and rattling....if they are a jubilee clip normlay works as a very effective fix.

Whilst there.....check also O2 sensor connections......

the o2 sensor has corrected its self. Ill check the shields when i get off. hope it is the shields. thanks guys.
