Hello I'm looking for info on how to tell what color of silver paint is on my car? I know you need to look on the VIN plate, but then where can you fined out what it all is saying??
Where should my RPM's be when at 80 mph on a 2.0L? My are at 3400 or so is this about where they should be?
Thanks for the help,
Paul

The paint code should be on the rivetted plate at the front of the engine bay near the front grill, on this you should have a Z code mine is Z147 which is star silver from memory.
Best thing to do is take the code to VX and they can give you a definate on the colour.
HTH :y

Mine is star silver too Z157 Vx part no 9200119 for the touch up pen. More than one shade of the same colour. :-/ My paint code is found by opening the drivers door - its on a black sticker on the B pillar. :y

Z147 is Star Silver 2
There are 3 versions I think
-
Vx should be able to find yours from the VIN number - or get the "Parts Expert" to waddle out and have alook for himself ;)

Thanks to everyone for the paint code. I found it in the door and it is Z147, star silver. Does anyone know about the RPM's??

Guys, if I am not mistaken, Z147 is Titanium silver not STAR! It is a sort of champagne colour.
-
Mines definately star silver and it's Z147 :-/
-
Well that's sorted that out then :-/ ::) ;D
-
Everywhere I looked says Z1247 is Star Silver 2 NOT Star Silver
-
As for the rpm vs mph, thats about right mate, my 2.0 manual estate is roughly there or thereabouts from memory.. :y
-
Again thanks for all of the help with the paint and RPM. What a great site.

So, Z147 is star silver and Z1247 is star silver 2. Makes sense (to me) :y
-
DO a search on Z147, also the paint books said 2 as well. they changed the codes between the 3 versions of Star Silver as well
-
Across the Vauxhall range there are lots and lots of different Star Silver. Z147 is star silver Ronnie, as that is what my MV6 is ;). Z147 is the most common Star Silver on prefacelifts from what I can work out...

Hi Paul, On my 2.0L facelift at a steady 95mph the rpm`s are exactly 3500. Although mine is an auto your rpm`s seem a bit on the high side. :-?
