DM,

You could try a local breakers for the bonnet handle.  I suspect they won't have the radio though.

You could also try a few of these

This might help as well

Why do you need an original stereo?

Cheers

You can get adaptor boxes to allow the steering wheel controls to drive certain stereos but they're a bit pricey. TBH if you're happy with the factory one it's no bad thing to put one back in. Makes the car look totally standard so no-one will think of trying to nick it! Put a post in the parts wanted section and someone will be along. It's worth making sure you get the unlock codes for them, however!

In addition, the ignition switched and permanent live feeds to the stereo are often the wrong way round on the car wiring loom and this may well be why your radio is losing the station memories. Have a look behind the stereo and see if there is an adaptor loom which allows you to swap the two feeds over.

You need to swap the igniton and permananet live feeds over on aftermarket radio kit.....they often have bullet connectors to support this.
