Hi All, I am new here, have said hi in the new bit, Now for a question, I have just purchased a Omega 2.0ltr 16v Ecotech Saloon in met blue, the central locking did not work when purchased, i have read around, what i have read is that there is a control box in the drivers footwell, had a look, nothing there just wires with a plug on it, assuming it should be there, is there any reason why this may have been removed, can i just get one and plug it in? wil one from any Omega fit?
Thanks In Advance. Mark.

It could be that an alarm was fitted and this became a pain, I guess. Alarm and immobiliser share the same control unit. Maybe the unit just packed up?
Regarding fitting one I'm not sure if it needs to be paired with the ECU. It will certainly need a Tech 2 to pair it with the keyfob remotes, unless you can get one that comes with remotes already paired with it, I guess.

I dont have remotes or remote keys, just normal key, So in this case I just want it to lock all doors, when i lock the drivers door, would this be ok you think?

Well, you'd certainly need to replace the control unit. The inputs from the driver's door lock, and outputs to the motors all meet here. Of course, at this point you may well find the reason why it was removed in the first place!
I'd look out for a module from a car of similar age and model to yours. I'm afraid I don't know enough about all the variants to know if it would normally have remote keys, alarm, etc.

Right just to update you all...!!!!
I bought a central locking control box from a breakers yard the same part number as mine, did not work, plugged it and no difference, well apart from the car would not start. So sent it back, the guy i bought it off said if it did not work then send it back, which was nice of him, the unit itself worked as he tried it before he sent it, just not in mine, so all i can assume is somebody has been messing about with the wiring, and unplugged it all. :-/
So what i did was.......
I bought a remote central locking unit from Ebay, it came with control box, 4 solenoids, all wiring, and 2x remote key fobs. All in the kit was £15.50 buy it now price, postage was £12, but for £27.50, cant lose really, i paid £40 for the second hand unit from breakers yard.
As for fitting, it was easy, took me an afternoon, but all went well, works a treat, can open and close all doors remotely now form a distance of 25 metres.
I have included the link if anyone wants to have a look, well worth the money, and easy to fit, i have just bought another one to upgrade the missus' Calibra to remote too, as she already has central locking which works, i only had to put one solenoid in the drivers door, when this triggered, it caused the old system to kick in, thus fully remote central locking in 25 mins.
