Title: Failed MOT
Post by: philayl on 29 May 2007, 15:06:16
Hi All, after getting the auto gearbox replaced and the exhaust replaced, it failed the MOT today on both rear springs broken, looks like another job for the weekend, I think I know the underneath of the car better than the inside!  :'( :'( :'(

Was it just the rear springs it failed on if so it could have been more costly, good luck with the repair and retest :y

Hi Jimbob, fortunately I have a mate in the trade  ;) so the springs are very reasonable, it is just fitting them that is a pain, especially when you get to my age, I can still get down on the floor, I just have trouble getting back up again :-[

Hi nixoro, yes it was only the springs that it failed on, in fact the tester commented on what good condition the car was in ( apart from springs  ;D ), in fact watching him test it, I wouldn't be surprised if some new cars would fail the MOT, he really put it through the wringer.

Funny, my MOT tester always says that about mine...  just after he's told me what its failed on. >:(    Think sometimes I'd prefer to hear it was a bag of sh1te but had passed.
