Hi all,
Can anyone help me ?
I took the battery off my Elite saloon today to charge it up as not having used it for a while, even though i'd removed the neg. terminal.
I had opened the door with the key and after removing battery closed bonnet and pushed all door pins down from inside the car closing d/s/r door last as it would not lock from the outside with key. When i came to unlock the door with key it won't lift the pin up enough to open it :'(.
Has any one had this problem before and is there an answer to it :question.
Cheers,
Pete :y.

as far as i remember it wil open with the key from drivers door...but you really need to apply some pressure on it...

Thanks Markie i'll give it a go, just don't want to snap the key off :exclamation :'(

its a fine line :-/ but it really needs to be pushed to the point where you think.....this is going to snap... Just dont force it till your red in the face :y
The Key is a little tougher than you think and it shoudl do the trick. Has happened to a few in the past :(

wont it work in the passenger door?

I've not got a key hole on the passenger door, is that not normal then as never thought to check.
If not normal then a previous owner must have de-locked it :-?.

I don't know from what date, but Vauxhall de-locked the later preface lift cars. My T reg Astra is the same.

i'd actually been drinkin when i was online last night, just looked, mine doesnt have a keyhole on the passenger door either! my corsa did, but it wasnt even central locking, which may be why it had a keyhole!

Mine is a 96, and i didn't notice when i bought it that there was no key hole on the pass. side, only when i came to open it from that side because not ever owning a car with a press button entry system before i kept forgetting :-/ :).
I've still to get into the car as it been raining that hard here all day i thought better of it ::)

Having locked myself out of my Omega before it was not possible to use the key even with applying a lot of force.
I ended up unlocking the boot with the key, then using an old coat hanger depress the rear seat buttons and climb through into the cabin and unlock from the inside. :)

I suppose as a last resort that's what i'll have to do as well :(, wish me luck :).

Pete, still locked out ???
When mine played up [1] I used a *lot* of wd40 equivalent in the key hole.
Next day, opened up like there never was a problem. Try it (if you've the time).
[1] not a power problem per se, but stuck none the less.
