during the cooler weather car runs at around 92.5 to 95 deg
recently its been running at 95 to 97
during the last 2 days its been reaching 100 .
the ad fan seams to kick in around 101 deg is this right, i know the red line is a little bit higher but still seams a little high to me.
flushed and replaced the coolant this after noon. seams a little better. gets to 100 slowly. (was sat still running )
both air con fans kick in when air con on but dont seam to afect the temp.
running with the heater on at full blast gets it back to 95, but im not mad enough to run around with the heater on when its 26 outside.
any ideas :)

Make sure there are no cold spots on the rad for starters, suggesting a blockage

Sounds a tad warm to me...
Partial blockage most likely, give it a darn good flush with forte, and renew the antifreeze
when was the coolant last changed
does a hard rev to 5,000 rpm bring the needle back into range?
-
Put some proper coolant flush through and then refill to see what happens.
Certainly running too warm and it is most likely to be poor circulation or tired pump.... or inaccurate gauge.
-
On v6, low speed fans should come on at 96C, high speed fans about 97/98C (as read on gauges)
The Forte Cooling System Flush is very good.

or inaccurate gauge.
LOL, something I've been investigating, for obvious reasons. They all appear to be lazy above 95C, as if Vx didn't want to scare anyone.... (BMW are the same)

sounds like thermo switch first then, as mine dont do any thing till 100 lol.
linked the fan out to run at high speed with ignition last night, on way home got to 97 deg and stayed there .

I would suggest that is still too high....
