Hi,
First of all sorry for my english, I am from Hungary and owning a manual 2.2i facelift Omega. I read a lots of excellent ideas and tips but could not figure out how to fix the following problem:
After a half an hour driving when the engine temp is up to normal my car suddenly looses power when accelerating. It takes for 2-3 sec, and then everything is back to normal. There is no engine light and no code. The software has been recently updated. I also changed the ignition module and the air flow meter and cleaned the trhottle house. Did not helped :(. The only other sympthome is that the car has a relatively high oil consumption.

Have you checked to see if there is any oil in the plug wells?
If you are losing oil, it could be that your cam covers are leaking.

check the plugs for oil as AA mentions it could be cam covers.
But also, before hand, what sort of level of servicing does it have...the loss of power could be resolved by oil / filters and sparks being renewe. Also ensure all of the breather system is in good clean condition.

Thanks, for the help, I will check the spark wells, this has not been checked yet. It has regular oil and filter services. I also changed the sparks, but it did not make any difference. According to your experiences if there is no service light and no error codes, than this problem most probably originates from some kind of mechanical failure, such as it sucks in some oil through the intake manifold or somehow from the engine head?
I forgot to note that this problem only occurs in low rev range 1500-3000, and in the majority of the cases if I keep pushing the throtle it restarts the acceleration. I have a feeling that one, or two cylinders are not firing properly, so maybe the cam cover will resolve it.
I let you know the results.

Have a look at this thread, it's for changing the spark plugs, but you can follow it and have a look yourself to see if there is any oil/water in the spark plug wells.

it does sound like amisfire of sorts - has the dispack been changed for a known working one, or new one?

Sorry but i do not know what does the dispack means, I replaced the coil pack (Bosch made) for a brand new one together with Bosch sparks (according to bosch catalogue). It made no difference with respect to the problem, obviously the engine is running smoother and more powerfull. But I am guessing that if it is a problem with the ignition it would not come only when the engine is up to normal temperature. In addition when I was cleaning the throttle body I realised that there is some oil in the intake manifold. So I am getting more and more to the idea that the engine sucks in some oil through the intake and that is why it comes suddenly without any electrical signs (error codes). BTW can you help me how can I clean the intake manifold without disassembling it? Can I use the intake manifold cleaner which is suggested for the throttle body cleaning?

It's more likley to be unburnt fuel in the intake, probably caused by weeping injectors.
A good injector cleaner fuel additive may help to clean them.
Something like Forte.

And can this also cause the power loss?

Spot on AA. One of my sparks was soaking in oil. I will change the cam cover next weekend. :y
I hope it will solve the power loss as well, though when last time I changed the sparks I do not remember them to be covered with oil. :(

Guys, can you help me?
I just back from the shop (where I purchase the camcover gasket) and I was told that this power loss can be because of the EGR valve. Can this cause power loss without error code? Is there a way to clean it or it can only be replaced?

Does the 2.2 have EGR? I know on later V6's, it was removed, no?
If the EGR is sticking, it is possible to make a plate out of a drinks can etc, and blank it off, to save costs,
