Title: radio code

hi is there any way of getting your code back if you dont no it
my car came with no code with it
and i need to disconnect the battery

Yep! VX dealer can get it for you as well as your security code and pass for about £25. Possibly the only way to do it.

If it was the original radio, get a 'Carpass' from your dealer (£15 - £45, depending on your dealer, so ring around!).

If its not original, plenty of dubious places on the net will decode them, though not sure we should post links to them.  Easy enough to kind though ;)

thanks for the advice but i think i have a rogue
stereo have had the battery disconnected for about 2 hours
put it back on and it didnt need a code

Is it an SC 804 ?, code may have been deactivated

Code can be disabled if you know the code...   ...so presumably previous owner did disable it.

My Dad changed my Nan's battery on her car. Nan couldn't find her card with the Code on it so I phoned the Rover Garage, he wanted the serial number that was stamped on the radio.... I phoned back half an hour later and he had the code for me...... :y  So I went to put the radio back in the dash when I saw a piece of paper in the hole near the back, it was the paper that must have been stuck to the radio, it had the Code written on it ::) ;D
So try phoning the garage first it may save you a few quid, better still get your Mrs to phone ;)
