car starts fine and ticks over about 650 rpm with a/c running so seems fine..have noticed last few days what seems like a miss fire at around 45-50 mph..if you put hard throttle it does acelerate but not too smoothly up to 70ish and then seems fine ....not all the time but has been always around the 45/50 mark..any ideas..new plugs fitted when covers done 10k ago..air filter new and no leaks of oil on ht leads...throttle bodies clean and recent new TPS ??

Wait for everyone else to disagree Andrew, but it could be a dirty/faulty (MAF) Mass Air Flow Meter :-/

Had no eml lights on so assume any fault would only register if sensors detect and store code??is it possible to clean the M.A.F unit or is it just ..buy another..if I remember when had problems with one before car wouldn.t start and ran really lumpy..could this be early signs of a fault

what rev range is your misfire?
-
Markie...revs between 2..2/5 but seems to be more speed related

have the plug leads been replaced....or are they "known good"

Think we have now traced fault down to Throttle position sensor as fault code flashed up as 22..my question is why should this fail again...had identical issues about 2 months ago so fitted new gm crank sensor but bought second hand tps..that worked fine and car ran ok until few days ago..today hardly drivable as stalling and erratic revs and almost impossible to pull away under 2000rpms..is it just another knackered tps to join the last one in the bin or are these only to be trusted with new ones..anybody had issues with them before ??
