Title: suspension/steering

not sure where to begin.......
noticed a slight knock when driving along and the road is pot holed or going over a large speed hump.
can't feel it only hear it.
well after spending nearly 3 hrs under the front of the car checking bush's ect,can't find any thing wrong :-/nothing seems out of the ordinary.
any ideas peeps

I'd second that, and you won't be able to detect any play whilst there on the car, and not much difference when there off the car.

errrr so  not wanting to appear a thicky then ........how do you know if there ok then?
don't want to replace em if it don't cure the problem :(

They are only about £15 a pair, and quite simple to replace ;)

Hi...what i usually do is to jack up and support both sides of the car so both front wheels are off the ground,then check for any play/looseness in the links..HTH...Wayne

exactly what I did,no noticable play :-/
I know it's an easy job to replace em,just a great beliver in "if it ain't broke leave it alone LOL" :)
But having read as many links on here as I could find,it does seeem as if replacing may be the answer :)
I'll get some on Monday and give it a go   ;)

If these don't cure it then other most likely cause is the wishbone bushes

Have you tried the top suspension leg mounts for wear. ::)
