Sooo, have the following to do this weekend and am planning a hefty love in with my car whilst diff is being re-conned.
Need to do the following - but to am I correct to do it in this order? What are peoples thoughts/experiences for ease of job/time - dont want to start and finish a job then start dismantling again after just putting back together.
1. Fuel/Air Filters
2. Breathers
3. Rocker gaskets
4. Spark Plugs
5. Cambelt - ( Oh am also replacing oil pressure switch as it's weeping whilst front end stripped down)
Is this a realistic weekend job?? (that's if it doesn't rain!!!! >:()
Cheers

personally i`d strip it right down to belt and work back from there.
Do belt and tensioners - may as well do water pump when there and build back up via cam covers, breathers and filters last...
Others may differ... and yes A good solid weekend with no significant barriers ( all tools and parts present) and a SWMBO to bring endless supplies of tea should see it done :y
EDIT - Just read pressure switch not cam belt so ignore line 2.

are you having the diff reconned at £450 rather than a second hand unit?

I'm changing the water pump - just forgot to type it in :-X
The wife is away for the weekend with the kids to keep them out my way as the little angels shouldn't be in earshot of the effin and blindin that's most likely going to happen plus she knows she'll be chief tea lady all weekend and she "want's a life too!!!!" was the phrase ::) ..... so am going to have a decent pile of butties and my finest thermos to hand :D. At least will be able to have my ipod on loud without complaint :y- really looking forward to this weekend.... though hopefully it'll all go well.
Have been debating doing the crank sensor which is very topical at the mo.... but unsure as yet as to the time it will take and whether it's absolutely necessary and only replace when failed :-/ Don't know.

yes, don't know enough about the diff to do anything with it myself and have been getting quotes for scrappers at around the £150 to £200 mark - and we have a fair few in Liverpool too. So for peace of mind and the wifes nerves am going down the repair of my existing route.
