Title: V6 coolant change
Post by: Varche on 05 July 2007, 20:19:20
I am thinking of doing my coolant change now rather than in the Autumn.

How much antifreeze coolant do I need and which colour? I have no idea what colour is in it at the moment - it is over three years since it was last changed.

I remember there being a thread on this a while back but couldn't find it! Is there a VX/Opel part number I should ask for?

They only do the pink stuff now,  When I did mine I got 5ltr and mixed 50/50 you'll have more than enough   :y

Always change the antifreeze when specified. So 3 yrs on blue type is way too long.  I certainly wouldn't go 5 yrs on the red either, despite what it says on the bottle.

Unlikely you can get TC prices there, which makes red expensive, so blue from your local factors (unless its already got red in), and change more regular than you have been!

it really is a doddle, so do it now, well....this weekend if you can. Theres even a how too on here  :y

As Mark DTM says poor coolant change or weak mixture s a major cause of corrosion of oil plate/ cooler....
