This is going to be hard, if not impossible to diagnose.
Driving to work in the Elite saloon along the M4 this morning - Had covered 40 miles, with cruise set to 80 -no probs. All of a sudden, the car "shuddered" violently, the engine missed a beat. It then recovered itself immediately - and I was able to drive the remaning 40 miles without further issue.
The magic paperclip hasn't revealed anything..and nothing looks amiss! no other symptoms.

Bit of debris in fuel linewhich temporarily blocked it ?? Maybe :-/

I don't think so. It was more of an "instant" cut out, than running out of fuel.. as if the spark had been cut..

What about electrics? Did they stay on during the shudder : radio, heating, etc What about potential of the alternator starting to give early signs of trouble. (You've not had an out of world experience have you - check your watch and the time and date to see if your missing time :o :y)

All other electrics are fine... I'm going to put it down to one of those things ;D

Lol....have had a similar event happen on both cars now......both times followed by a HUGE cloud of soot......and each tiem it was the exhaust baffles letting go!
Scares the crap out of the people behind!

I can't fit a new bloody backbox, cause I can't get the remains of the old one off the mid-sections!
