Title: 2.0 lumpy running cont.
Post by: ians on 07 July 2007, 11:27:38
Still trying to solve my lumpy running problems.

The plug wells are now dry,  new plugs and leads fitted.  Throttle body/breathers were only just cleaned recently (and ran fine afterwards).  No EML on.

Feels like it is missing/misfiring  - most noticable at warm idle (c 700rpm) - heavy vibration - and when under load running rough and not pulling well at all.

Is it DIS pack next?

Cheers,
Ian

I would agree.....4 pots certainly over 700...2.5`s just over 500rpm and 3.0`s just under 500rpm

Ian cause's for missing/miss firing.

1. Worn, faulty or incorrectly gap spark plug's. (not this as new plugs fitted)
2. Faulty plug leads. (not this as new leads fitted)
3. Vacuum leak at throttle housing, inlet manifold or associated hoses.
4. Engine managment system fault.
5. Uneven or low cylinder compressions.
6. Disconnected, leaking, or perished emission control system hoses.

Cause's for lack of power.

1. Timing belt incorrectly fitted.
2. Fuel filter choked.
3. Fuel pump faulty, or delivery pressure low.
4-5 the same as above.
6. Brakes binding. (won't be this as you would notice)
7. Clutch slipping. (wont be this as yous is an auto?)

Hope this helps Ian, got all this from the manual wether its right or not who know's but something to work from.

Paul

Just to let you know but all the idle's are adjustable BUT only through the tech 2 they can't be done manually.

If my memory serves me correctly I had an 'N' reg Omega and needed to get a new key fob programmed and I am sure they used the tech 2 but again not sure but someone on here will be able to tell you, one of the tech heads on here will tell you.

try changing the engine mangement relay...thats what caused my probs in the end an it sounds very much like wot was happening to mine i think they are bout £20 from any vauxhall specialist dunno bout dealers though..as for tech 2 you should be able to use it on your miggy i got mine checked via one an thats how we found out bout the relay...
