i have a problem with stalling its stange one so any help will be greatly apreciated
the car is a 1994 omega saloon 2.5 v6
the problem is it stalls on take off and when im stood in park it does it some times
when i go to take off and i put my foot down it kind of stalls as if its only running on a few cylinders and then if i take my foot off fast it will pick up again it doesnt always do this and i can hold it in this stall state for how ever long i want with out any error codes being logged i hope you will be able to help me now if you need any more info on this to help me please let me know thank you in advance
-
also im not afraid to rip it apart and take pictures it will be in bits tomorow if i could get this problem solved id keep the car and not get break it for parts and go to the dark side and join beemer
-
I would start with basics first if you havent already done so....air filter/plugs. could be dis pack breaking down or leads....when was the fuel filter last changed?
-
air leak?
-
tbh i cant ever remember changeing the fuel filter so i will start with plugs, leads and fuel filter its just strange how it does it some times and not others
-
ive also checked for airleaks and replaced alll sealing o rings and gaskets on the plenum and still no changed
would a video help show how its acting?

i think i have managed to find the right video the rest are on photo bucket but this one shows it and how it acts
-
just noticed something about the video its not registering any revs at all so il check the cs as well while its in bits

I thought it had cut out at that point - couldn't really hear from the budgie that is trying to get out of your glove box :o :y
-
That cut looks clean. Can you do paperclip test?
-
yes and i got lamba sensor bank 2 also it didnt cut out at all its still running i didnt restart the car once if u listen to it

Right, did the revs drop, or was that the instrument that went below 500? Did the car rev itself, or was that you?
-
if in gear it will stall no problem on junctions or moveing it around a car park i was reving it as it only happens when im accelarting some times it will do it some times it wont it also sounds as if its fireing on 3 now i think i have narrowed it down to what bank as the inlet ports on bank 2 (passenger side) are black as ace of spades and the ones on bank 1 drivers side are silver also i checked the resistance of the dis pack secondary and primary and i found it to be ok to my spec sheet also bank 2 is the bank with the lamba sensor error im really stuck and i really love the car and it drives nice please help me
also it didnt stall in the video at all u can hear the engine in the background it didnt stall but the rev counter wasnt recording any revs now ive had the crankshaft replaced by a garage and thats next port of call then the cam sensor on the left bank if there is one
-
If you are getting lamda codes for that bank, and that bank seems to be rich, then I would be checking the lamda and its wiring.
-
yeah but its been there since about a year and not had this b4 at all i guess the problem has got worse
-
all i can say is il replace the lamba sensor then the camshaft sensor and then the crankshaft and after that i know where theres either a dirt cheap omega or dirt cheap leather interior and parts
-

So you've had the lamda fault for a year, now that bank is all sooted up? Hmmm.... ....that makes sense ;)
-
il try it see if it helps
-
ok guys ive just got doen off a test drive and guess what i havent replaced a sensor as there all operateing with in values with multi meter and Oscilloscope they where all nice and square wave forms so i thought to hell with it
as i rebuilt it i had cleaned the entire breather system useing a full tin of car cleaner worked a treat found a slightly blocked one but nothing to shout about and a damaged o-ring on the black ecotec bit where it connects to the throttle body i also replaced the orings on the inlet trumpets and it all seems to be ok and damn i thought it was good but its got so much response now its amazeing :D i think this is only a think i have solved this problem p.s the o rings on the inlet trupets where flat but as i replaced most of the others not long ago there proud and suple
-
ok i went out into the peak district trying my best to get it to stall today and it wouldnt at all didnt even spluter once :y thanks ever so much bassically i narrowed it down to an o-ring on the breather system on the front that had split and a vac pipe aswell when i had put the skuttle back on and checking the pipe for the umptenth time and finding a nice slice so thank you for all your help and i apreciate it and will stay and try and help the best i can
-
I love a happy ending :)

i was gonna say to you but its got all the goodies that would of been sold on but u have a facelift lol its is nice atlast it drives and throttle response is brilliant and its stopping
