Title: Rear shock absorber sleeve.
Post by: Varche on 07 July 2007, 11:26:50
Had a pair of new rear tyres yesterday. While it was up in the air I had a good look around. Discs, pads fine but on the nearside the sleeve on the shock absorber looks as though it has torn all the way around, detached itself from the outer top part of shocker and has rolled down over the lower part of the shocker. On the other side it looks right.i.e fastened to the inner and outer part.

Obviously it is there to keep dust out which we have an awful lot of here. Is it an MOT failure? Can it be repaired or is it a new shocker? The rears were only done three years ago.

Certainly not an MOT failure in the uk.....some companies sell the dust sheild as a seperate item.
