Title: Idle control valve
Post by: amba on 09 July 2007, 22:21:38
has anybody got any clever ways of ensuring the icv is a tight fir in the plenum ?have just refitted new unit but despite pushing the rubber bung and unit as hard as i can it seems to slightly pull out under the weight of the metal body, which i assume is allowing in air..have tried a cable tie roun body and then onto metal plate but this seems to have the effect of pulling the body down at an angle..any ideas as i now seem to have fixed the misfire and want it to be perfect now

just make sure it goes in cleanly and squarely, then should be ok...

Mild Green...Fairy Liquid.....or any other flavour for that matter, a slight smear around the ruber should ease it in  :y

I did put a bit of light 3/1 oil  around rubber bung and pushed it in hard(as on does??)but it seems to move out slightly(must be an age thing??)just wondered why it is not retained by anything other than good luck and a prayer as if need to be air tight would have thought a better system would be used
