now then chaps air bag has suddendly decided to be on all the time !! mot due at end of month >:( when i start car it gos out for a few secs then comes straight back on any ideas ?? got a complete set up spare is there any parts wich fail ?? oh its a 1998 mv6 saloon !! tia mark :y

No 'standard' fault. Under seat wiring, esp duff connectors, probably most common, but you really need codes read :( - it will certainly need resetting anyway.

Officially, yes.
Though, with my MV6, the cheapo tech2 lead from ebay could reset the airbag light (once fault fixed), but not read what the fault was...

Cannot paperclip test the SRS system on any Omega.

May be worth a punt on cheapo tech2 lead - will cost less than trip to dealers ;)
If it works, great, if it doesn't sort your issue, its only £30, and you'll use it for other stuff...

Curious!? My cheapo TechII read the fault on my 99 diesel Astra and then reset it after I sorted the fault (passenger seat belt pretensioner).
