Today I went to open the boot and couldn't, got home from work, removed the inner lining and when you use the handle it just flaps about like a flappy thing and looks like something doesn't push something in the right way. Im not sure how it's meant to work or what it should look like. Any advice would be good, due to my job I need to get in the boot everyday.
Took a couple of pics 1st is without touching boot release lever, 2nd is what happens when you pull on the boot handle.

No mate it's a saloon. I will try to get another pic, but I have to climb through the seats to get in the boot, to push this plstic bit down to release the catch so it's not the easiest thing to get a pic of. ::)

Sorry guys signature updated now.
It's a 1999 Saloon 3.0 Elite.
I only discovered all my problems after I had handed over the cash, aint that the way.

you might wanna have a word with the seller about that if they didnt tell you about it..
does it have a release handle inside like the facelift does if someone got locked in it?
-
Nope, no internal release lever.
The car was sold as seen.....
Im not happy though, it's got a boot that doesn't work, it vibrates over 60mph, some bulbs need changing in the dash, theres an oil leek somewhere.
-
give us some more details and we can soon have the car sound...
oil leak....bottom end? top end? engine oil?
Bulbs - where ? theres potentially a how to guide on here if its climate bulbs.....
Vibration - tyre pressures? tyre tread? wheel bearing etc...
-
Oil leak I will sort eventually.
I have 1 bulb behind the rev counter and 1 behind the passenger climate.
Had the front balance but somebody said get back checked as well as tracking.
Like the car but just hope I can get things sorted for a decent price asap.

In the 'Omega Maintenence Guides' section is a guide on climate bulbs. Behind the dash is easier - 4 screws - there must be a guide somewhere on that as well...
-
Can you get a more zoomed out picture.
The bit I can see looks pretty correct, the lever from the handle should push the plastic section down and release the latch.
-
Bit dark now, do you guys mind having a look back at the thread tomorrow? i will try another pic after work??

Just noticed James is in Cheltenham... A bit far me thinks.
If I go to the breakers today which part is most likely to need replacing???
The Handle
The Chunky Unit Behind The Handle With The Release Arm On
Or
The Very Bottom Bit With The Actual Catch On.

Best thing would be to get the whole lot minus the handle. You should be fine with that.
Cheers Paul :y
