Title: fuel starve

the 2.2dti starts,runs for 1-2 seconds cuts out i.e. no fuel the first time it done this was under warrenty and vx call out said it was vx thing not to be alarmed and if i pointed the car down hill it would eventually start this has happened a further 2 times and i pointed car down hill  and it did start how can i avoid this

We do seem to be getting a spate of these 2.2DTis with failing fuel pumps.

Before you condem it though, check fuel filter, and certainly glow plugs....

Any EML?

And check the bleed off pipes and replace as a matter of course.

Talking of bleed off pipes, know where I can get it? Tried the usual places for a couple of metres, no joy.  Do I have to buy individually from dealer?
