i am fitting cruise control to my manual mv6. i have all the parts i need, and are now in place. under the steering colum i have found the brake switch connector but no clutch switch connector. its not there trust me. it is an ex police car so may have been cut/re used for something else.
my question is where do the two wires from the clutch switch go?? both black wires, one plain black, the other black with a yellow stripe.
thanks people

I have installed cruise on my car and just have to fit the clutch and brake switches, do you remove the exsisting switch and refit the new one in it,s place or do they work along side the original. :question

gary, the switches are extra to what there is already. there are two holes on the brake pedal box,one for brake light, one for cruise, and one on the clutch pedal box. HTH

From memory there are two feeds to the cruise actuator that enable it to activate. Both of them are +12v. There are three switches to disengage the cruise unit (on the stalk, brake and clutch) these are all press to break switches.
From looking at the Haynes book there are various circuits that Vx have used. In fact when I installed cruise I found out that my loom was different to what Haynes thought anyway.
Back to your problem. If you are certain that there is no clutch connector, then here is what I would do
connect up the stalk and the brake switch and take a pin readout from the cruise multi plug (I will find my post from some months ago with this info on see here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1170492943/15 ).
THis will tell you which of the two positive feeds (that the cruise unit senses for it to operate, these are pin A and pin D as referred to in the post) are currently working for your cruise unit.
The next thing to do will be to work out how your switches are working. for example if pin A responds to both brake and cruise disengage button then you will need to connect up a power feed through the clutch switch to pin D.
As long as you are methodocial and are happy to work things through with a multimeter it should be easy enough
Personally I'm pretty amazed if the original wiring for the clutch switch has been used for anything else but as you say, you've had a good dig around and not found anything.
Finally, trust me it will be worth the effort, I would not be without the cruise on mine!

Look for a white plug not a black one (i.e. one that is the same colour as the clutch switch).
